A few years ago I was turned on to an out-of-print book titled "Evolution of a University: Texas Tech's First 50 Years" by Jane Gilmore Rushing and Kline A. Nall (Madrona Press, Texas Tech Publishing, 1975)
While I was at Tech I probably would have disregarded this book. Today, as an alumnus, I regard it as fine reading. So much information about the politics involved with the creation of the college, the attiitudes toward the Panhandle by those in Austin, and those who stuck their nose out to leave their legacy in the form of Texas Tech University...
Alibris (BTW, a fantastic resource to find rare and out of print books)
Amazon (You've heard of this retailer, have you not?)
